* originally released in a cropped letterbox format, THE LAST ONE has been restored to the full screen image of the source material.

Moonshine and bootlegging have a special place in American history and culture. Brought into the southern mountains by Scot-Irish settlers and adapted to native corn, the craft thrived through prohibition and persisted throughout the Twentieth Century despite formidable efforts of law enforcement to suppress it. Here for the first time is captured an authentic moonshine still in operation by a true inheritor of the tradition. Moonshiner Popcorn Sutton runs one final batch of bootleg whiskey to commemorate the closing of an era of wit, nerve, hardiness and independence.
