Description
The only authentic behind-the-scenes account of the world’s most famous moonshiner and a treasury of exclusive color photos of Popcorn Sutton’s life, home, and moonshine operation—a multiple award winning volume of photos, essays, and interviews documenting the true story of a modern folk hero.

Marvin ‘Popcorn’ Sutton learned to make moonshine at an early age, like his father and grandfather before him, and continued to pursue the perfection of the craft throughout his life. He also honed a natural talent for performance and came to fulfill the public’s expectations of a hillbilly moonshiner, appearing in documentaries and making moonshine in public at heritage events. Behind the scenes, he truly lived the part that he played in public, producing and distributing moonshine in ever-increasing volumes and his uncompromising embrace of tradition ultimately brought him into explosive conflict with the authorities. Now remembered by many as a folk hero, The Moonshiner Popcorn Sutton captures the true story of the man behind the myth in a celebration of craft, heritage, and irrepressible character.

I’ve been a huge fan of SuckerPunchPictures’ YouTube channel
for years. I love Appalachian Mountain life, and the people, whether
or not they make moonshine. I’m also a huge fan of the Moonshiners
show. Popcorn Sutton is a true legend, along with his friend & still-hand,
    JB Rader.

I just received the new Popcorn Sutton book,
which came with a free interview CD since I ordered early,
along with “It’s A Hell of A Life” DVD, and
    “First Language” DVD.

I am announcing my very happy satisfaction
of the quality of these items, yes even before I
    read or watch them!
The Popcorn Sutton book is hardcover, and the
layout was amazingly & creatively thoroughly thought out.
The color pictures are as important as the text.
Beautiful scenery, wonderful insight into the life of the most
    famous moonshiner of modern times.

I highly recommend this book, and also the DVD’s.
Very fair prices & very prompt shipping. I couldn’t be happier
with the collection that I bought!

Thanks to SuckerPunchPictures.com, their YouTube channel,
and to Neal Hutcheson. I don’t know him or the crew personally,
    but I wish I did.

    Peace to all,
    Brian in NY State

Thank you so much SuckerPunchPictures for making such fine material as a lasting memorial to Popcorn Sutton, a true legend. I can’t recommend these products enough, I’m amazed at the attention to detail and quality. Don’t miss out on these treasures, thank you so much SuckerPunchPictures, I’m a fan and consumer for life.

This book is a page turner! I found it absolutely impossible to put down. Even if you think you know a lot about Popcorn Sutton you’ll learn a lot about the real man behind the myth. For those who don’t appreciate much profanity be advised. There’s an awful lot of it in this book but that is simply the way Popcorn talked. As for myself I found it absolutely fascinating. And even more so because I have relatives who are no longer living who remind me for the world of Popcorn. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. As far as I’m concerned it should be required reading for every US history class in the country!
