Description
The communities on Core Sound worked the water for nearly three centuries in adaptation to a dangerous and unpredictable environment. In the past decade, the seclusion that protected their culture and livelihood has eroded under the pressures of new arrivals, rising land values, and declining catches. This moving portrait of life on the Carolina Coast captures their deep attachment to their home and determination to hold on to it as long as possible.
